Ommegang to Release Next Game of Thrones Beer, Three Eyed Raven, for Season Five Premiere

You know how the age-old saying goes, “Behind every great TV show there is a great beer.” Ok, maybe that's not it. However, since partnering with HBO just before the Game of Thrones season three premiere in 2013 to debut Iron Throne—a blonde ale inspired by the show—Brewery Ommegang has certainly been changing the beer game for television watchers everywhere.

And now, as if the anticipation for the Game of Thrones season five premiere couldn’t be any greater, Ommegang will soon launch the newest addition to the Game of Thrones collection—Three Eyed Raven

Three Eyed Raven goes on sale this April and is Ommegang’s first notable stab at a black saison, a beer which welcomes roasted malts to a typically bright ale of golden color. It was inspired by Bran Stark's storyline, as it is he who has been chasing after a three-eyed raven since the very first season of the show. Mike McManus, Ommegang's innovation manager stated, "We knew this was the perfect opportunity to brew something with many different characteristics."

For fans who are too excited to wait for the release date, Ommegang has already started holding various launch events

Three-Eyed Raven is set to hit retail stores April 6, with season five of Game of Thrones premiering April 12. You can use Ommegang's beer finder to locate it at a store or bar near you.
