Why should Center City and South Philly get all of the beerfest fun? For the second year in a row, brew aficionados will gather in the Northeast for a day of sipping suds at the Greater Northeast Beer Festival. Held at the grounds beside the Cannstatter Volksfest Verein banquet hall on Academy Road, the festival will feature over 50 different beers, live music and plenty of snacks for sale.

Tickets are $30 in advance ($35 at the door), which gains you entry to the four hour, all-you-care-to-drink event, as well as a commemorative tasting glass. From 1–5 PM, listen to live music and enjoy the springtime sun as you sample the brews, watch cigars being rolled by hand and peruse vendors’ wares like whiskey-making equipment and great tees (including ours!).

Beermakers on hand will include Victory Brewing Co., Magic Hat, Brooklyn Brewery, Flying Fish, Troegs, Yards Brewing Co. and more. If you’ve tasted something extra special, you can stop over at the nearby Craft Beer Outlet (9910 Frankford Ave) after the event, and stock up on your way home.
