25-Cent Tub Gin Drinks for Cullen-Harrison Day, April 7
Happy Harrison-Cullen Day! April 7 is the 79th anniversary of the passage of this act, signed into law by President Roosevelt, which marked the beginning of the end for Prohibition. The law legalized the sales of beer by raising the allowed ABV of any commercially sold liquid from 0.5% to 4%.
Through hard spirits were did not become legal until December 5 of that same year, that isn’t stopping the folks who produce Tub Gin from celebrating. Red Tettemer + Partners and Peach Street Distillers have partnered with five bars all over Philadelphia, who will sling Tub drinks for the eye-popping price of just 25 cents each.
Tub Gin is a fine liquor, not swill, so this special — done right — won’t leave you with a splitting headache, but instead allow you to add a touch more spirit to your evening for pocket change. Check out the schedule of where you can find this deal throughout the night.
