City-Wide Fundraiser for Sandy Relief, November 16
Hurricane Sandy mostly spared the Philadelphia area, but folks at the Jersey Shore (and elsewhere) were hit bad, and are still struggling to clean up and rebuild. Thanks to some organizing from the Philadelphia Chapter of the United States Bartenders’ Guild, this Friday, November 16, you can help with relief efforts just by going out for a drink.
Liquor companies from around the world have donated spirits, which will be offered in special $10 drinks at more than 15 bars all over Philly. Just stop in and ask for the Jersey Shore Recovery Special, and half all proceeds from your cocktail or shot will go directly to the Red Cross’ efforts there.
Bars participating in the fundraiser:
Cantina Los Caballitos
Cantina Dos Segundos
Franklin Mortgage & Investment Co.
Khyber Pass Pub
The Trestle Inn
With liquor donated by these brands:
Absolut Orient Apple
Barritt’s Ginger Beer
Don Q Rum
Jameson Irish WhiskeyRoot
Siembra Azul Tequila
The fundraiser will continue all night, until product runs out. Cantina Dos Segundos in Northern Liberties will also act as a collection point for donated cleaning supplies, baby diapers and supplies, winter coats, blankets and non-perishable food items (cleaning and baby supplies are most needed).
Event Date: 11/16
