Where to Go to NOT Root for the Patriots or Seahawks

Broncos fans have a tough choice this Sunday. We can’t stand our AFC rivals, the New England Patriots, and we can’t forget the shellacking we took from the Seattle Seahawks in last year’s Superbowl. Well, fans might be disappointed, but we shouldn’t let that stop us from enjoying the big game. Here are some places where we can boo both teams this Sunday.

Fado's
Fado's Irish Pub in LoDo will have the game on all the TVs with sound, and there will game day specials on Guinness, cocktails, wings and burgers. (1735 19th St.; 303-297-0066)

Fate Brewing
This brewery and pub in Boulder are having a Growler Happy Hour until 5 PM on Sunday. Buy a growler and enjoy a free beer while it is being filled. The pub is also offering Superbowl party platters starting at $35. However, the bar will be closing at 5 PM so no watching the game. (1600 38th St., Boulder; 303-449-FATE)

LoDo’s
All three Lodo’s location will have Super Bowl specials this Sunday. Enjoy $15 Coors Light Buckets and there will be a Super Bowl Lounge on the rooftops. Take part in the “Deflated Ball Toss” for prizes. Tables can be reserved in advance by calling the local restaurant. (Downtown, 1946 Market St.; 303-293-8555: Highlands Ranch, 8545 S Quebec; 303-293-8555: Westminster, 3053 W 104th Ave.; 303-635-8025)

Jake’s Food & Spirits
Over in RiNo, bring your posse to Jake’s because groups of six or more who reserve tables will receive a free pizza. Enjoy chips and dip trio for $3 all day. Jake’s has 11 flatscreens and a 100-inch projector screen to watch the game. (3800 Walnut Street; 303-295-3800)

Sports Column
Enjoy the Super Bowl edition of Football Bloopers this Sunday. If there is a second half kickoff returned for a touchdown, the bar pays your first half tab. There will also be drink specials for the coin flip, Over/Under on National Anthem, mentions of “deflated balls,” touchdowns and more. Enter a raffle for a brand new pair of skis. Fun starts at 4 PM. (1930 Blake St.; 303-296-1930)

The Tavern
The Tavern Downtown will host the Ultimate Super Bowl Party featuring all-you-can-eat wings, pizza, chili, sliders and more, plus all-you-can-drink Bud and Bud Light. There will also be pools and prizes. Tickets are $35 online (entrance guaranteed) and $40 at the door. All other Tavern locations will offer these game day specials, $1 pizza rolls and boneless buffalo wings, $1.50 sliders, $3.50 Bud and Bud Light drafts, $4 Pearl vodka drinks and $4 Jager, Rumchata and Fireball shots. (Downtown, 1949 Market St.; 303-299-0100)

Viewhouse
Both locations of the ViewHouse will have a Super Bowl Tailgate party this Sunday. Enjoy food and drink specials featuring Coors Light, and there will be giveaways every quarter. Grand prize is a 58-inch LCD Smart HDTV. The Centennial ViewHouse also has Denver’s largest TV not in a sports arena for prime viewing anywhere in the bar. (Downtown, 2015 Market St.; 720-878-2015 and Centennial, 7101 S. Clinton St.; 303-790-VIEW)

D Bar
Will close at 3 PM on Super Bowl Sunday. No Broncos, no football!
