Where to Celebrate St. Patrick's Day 2015 in Washington, D.C.

It’s that time of year: Don your green gear, do a little jig and get ready to knock back a few pints. Here’s where you should be celebrating, come March 17. Yes, it’s heavy on the Irish bars and pubs….because where else would you want to be?
Less than two months opened, come to Celtic House for live music from 3–11 PM with no cover charge, and they’ll be dishing up all of your favorite Irish foods. (2500 Columbia Pike, Arlington; 703-746-9644)

Fado Irish Pub
With a number of events leading up to main day, don’t miss St. Practice Day on March 14 with brunch until 2 PM and Irish Dancers performing throughout the day. Come by on March 16 for Super Paddy’s Day Pub Quiz featuring an all-Irish quiz, specials and prizes. Doors open at 8 AM on the 17th with day-long performances from Irish dancers and bagpipers and live music starting at 2 PM. Cover starts at noon. (808 7th St., NW; 202-789-0066)

Register for the Four Miler race held on March 14, and celebrate at the post-race party with Irish dancers, live music and drink specials. On March 15, try your hand at Irish karaoke starting at 8 PM. On March 16, come for the Irish-themed pub quiz. And on St. Patrick’s Day, Four Courts will be open at 9 AM with live music. Irish Channel will be celebrating St. Patrick’s Day starting on Thursday, March 12, with events and promotions through Sunday, March 15, including live music and a chance to get your name engraved on a Guinness glass (3/14). Stop by for five days of St. Patrick’s Day festivities with specials including $8 car bombs on March 12, half-priced fish and chips on March 13, an Irish brunch on March 14, Irish happy hour on March 15 and it all culminates in a St. Patrick’s Day party on Tuesday from 11 AM–close. Union Jack’s

If you’re looking for an excuse to celebrate twice, look no further. On March 14, Union Jack’s will be hosting a St. Practice Day from 4–10 PM with drink specials including half-price car bombs.
