Check Out 1 Tippling Place's Indian-Inspired Cocktail Menu

by Drink Philly on Aug 18, 2016 in Bars & Restaurants

Back in March of 2016, Anne Robinson Frey and Myles Carroll, the owner and head bartender of Rittenhouse’s 1 Tippling Place, headed to Mumbai to open a pop up bar — and upon their return, they decided to bring a little taste of India to their Philadelphia bar.

From March 14 to April 1, Frey and Carroll took over the Olive Bar, an extremely popular bar amongst the Bollywood elite that opened 15 years ago, and ran a Tippling pop up with a few of their own drinks alongside some of Olive Bar’s own concoctions.

They’ll return to Mumbai in October 2016 for another round, but in the meantime, you can stop in and try one of their Indian-inspired cocktails. Drinks include the Bandra Milk Punch (cognac, rum, pineapple, green mango, ginger, lemon, lime, star anise, cinnamon, clove, fennel, Assam tea, chilies), the Indian G&T (housemade spiced tonic with Bluecoat gin), the Curry Scotch Smash (scotch, curry simple syrup, lemon, mint), the Uncle Mookerjee (bourbon, tamarind syrup, coconut milk, lime, toasted masala tincture, turmeric), and the Goan Daiquiri (green mango syrup, lime, cumin, aged rum).

Head to Tippling before its main crew makes a triumphant return to Mumbai and grab one of these inspired cocktails — that way, you can take a trip to India without leaving Chestnut Street.
