13th Annual Philly Bierfest Returns with Over 75 Beers, Arm Wrestling, Axe Throwing, Music, & More, Feb 28

Philly’s original Bierfest returns for its 13th year on Saturday, February 28 at the German Society of Pennsylvania!

This year’s event features six sprawling floors across two buildings, full of entertainment and libations, plus outdoor activities in the German Society’s garden. Guests can sample from a selection of over 75 beers, explore offerings from the PA cheese and cider caves, try their hand at axe throwing, and more.

Brought to you as always by the beloved Philly Roller Derby and the Brewers of Pennsylvania, this year’s festival is a proverbial smorgasbord of music, dancing, bites, and brews. Enter at the Beer Hall, grab a beer, and enjoy the musical stylings of T.C. Cole Riot with a side of Roller Derby arm wrestling. Then, head downstairs to the Ratskeller food hall for pretzels, brats, and the PA Cider Bar. Don’t miss the Home Sweet HomeBräu Taste-Off — the winner of which will get to brew a commercial batch of their beer to serve at next year’s Bierfest!

Make your way outside to the Bierfest Garden to enjoy a hot-pokered Trogenator by the firepit or continue to the German Speakeasy with bites from the PA Cheese Cave, an Ayinger Bavarian bar, as well as the NoLo bar for zero-proof and session-style brews. From there, head upstairs to the German Beer Hall for German cabaret, brewers, and folk dancing.

VIP guests will receive a commemorative mug and have special access to the Bitburger BRU lounge and balcony with snacks and seating.

Tickets are available now and begin at $59 for general admission. VIP tickets are $79 (1 PM VIP beer & chocolate pairing with a keepsake mug plus access to the Bitburger BRU lounge).

$99 VIP Plus Packages are sold out, but super fans aren’t out of luck!

Bierfest has just launched a new VIP Plus Preview Package for $114 per person. This new tier includes everything in VIP Plus as well as a tasting and seminar on the history of lager on Saturday, February 21. The session (from 4-5 PM) will be followed by Bierfest’s first Pre-Fest happy hour. Acquaint yourself with all of the brewers, events, and programming in advance so you don’t miss a thing.
