Bars to Watch the World Cup 2010

Every four years the best soccer nations around the world compete for glory while their fans drink in libatious support. This year, more than ever, the USA is getting into the action and bars are supplying the heightened desire with drink specials and viewing parties. The ideal bar to go to depends on what type of person you are, as mostly every bar in the area is covering the world cup, but there are four bars that are pumping up their efforts for the FIFA World Cup that we at Drink Philly recommend checking out.

Kildare's is known as a place to go for good food, drink and an Irish atmosphere. Well, during the world cup it will be opening at 9am for morning games and having $3 bud lights for all games. You're sure to enjoy the company and the drink at any of Kildares locations during the World Cup.

Want to feel truly American while watching the World Cup? Bayou in Manayunk is your place. They are having a very American special during World Cup games. $2.50 Coors Lights and “American Car Bombs” which entail a shot of Jack Daniels and Kahula dropped into Coors Light.

The Field House is displaying every game as well and have a modest $3 bud and bud light special. With the atmosphere the Field House presents it will be a great place to watch all the intense World Cup action.

Fado Irish Pub is indeed World Cup Special. They are boasting the World’s Biggest World Cup Block Party during the first three games on Saturday, June 12th including USA vs. England match. It will be starting at 7:30am and there is no end in sight. Fado’s is naming itself the Official Soccer Bar of the USA, and for good reason as it will be throwing parties and serving great World Cup food and drink specials all month long.

Nothing says America like craft beer and WWII-era Varga Girls!  Varga Bar has drink specials going on for every US World Cup game!

If one of these bars doesn’t seem like the place for you, then head to your regular hang out as any bar is guaranteed to be showing the World Cup action.
