How About Some Drink with that Science? Science After Hours at The Franklin Institute, Dec 5

How About Some Drink with that Science? Science After Hours at The Franklin Institute, Dec 5

Chances are good that you’ve been to The Franklin Institute, but you’ve probably never experienced it like this. On Thursday, December 5, the new adult program, Science After Hours, kicks off. From 6:30–9:30 PM, you’ll take your taste buds on a crazy ride through bitter beers, sweet snicker doodles, salty snacks, and you’ll get acquainted with umami. All together, you’ll get a chance to explore twenty sensory stimulating activities that will gear you up for the holiday season.

Enjoy Rootnog and Sage cobbler cocktails by Art in the Age. Explore the aromas of beer and breathe like frosty as you dip marshmallows in rum and then into liquid nitrogen. Go on a holiday flavor trip when a little berry changes sour to sweet and see what it does to beer, particularly the hoppy bite of an IPA. Create your own peppermint lip gloss, bake holiday cookies without an oven, and plenty more. Tickets are only $15 or $10 if you’re a TFI member. If you’re over 21, click here to grab tickets online, or call 215-448-1200.

Full list of all the booze-related stations here:

Holiday Flavor Tripping - One little berry can change everything! Pop one of these miracle fruits into your mouth and lemons and cranberries become sweet! This totally changes the flavor of beer too – Jeff will have a sample IPA on hand.
