Eulogy Bartender Christopher Topham Bids Philadelphia Farewell
Christopher Topham, longtime bartender and beverage director at Old City’s Eulogy Belgian Tavern, is departing Philadelphia in the weeks ahead.
Through his tireless work in the seven years he’s helmed the Old City fixture for the beer loving masses, Topham has earned the bar a spot on DRAFT magazine’s list of America’s 100 Best Beer Bars five times. His next stop is Denver, Colorado where he plans to tap into that city’s thriving beer culture.
But if you don’t get a chance to see Topham off at Eulogy this weekend, you can catch him around the corner at Serrano Restaurant on Wednesday, December 18, when they bid him farewell with a special five-course beer paring dinner. Serrano chef Gina Rodriguez and Topham collaborated on the menu and the amazing beers that will be paired with its dishes.
The dinner, which is limited to just one seating at 6:30 PM, costs $60 per person. The menu will feature Long Island Blue Point oysters with ale mignonette en gelee, paired with Rittersguts Gose; baked tomato Mediterranean style wholegrain crème fraiche, paired with Stillwater Cellar Door; chicken liver pate with grilled plum and green apple, paired with Bruery Oude Tart; lamb two ways (loin chop and merguez sausage) and cilantro-mint pesto, paired with Het Nest Kleveretin; and a selection of cheeses paired with Boulder Killer Penguin.
Seating is limited, and reservations are a must.
