Percy Street Pours Pappy For the People
Small production lots and an increasingly growing demand makes Pappy Van Winkle and other similar highly revered spirits from the Old Rip Van Winkle Distillery's reserves some of the most unobtainable liquid luxuries of our time. And in those rare instances where it does become available, a mere sip or two could set you back a princely sum.
But on Thursday, January 9, South Street’s Percy Street Barbecue will pour Pappy for the people. The Cook + Solo barbecue joint plans to release its precious allotment of the highly coveted and sought after bourbons (and token rye) at what it's calling “affordable prices for regular persons.” Still they’re not saying exactly how much it will cost.
[UPDATE] Below is the pricing for single and double pours:
10 year Bourbon $7 one ounce; $13 two ounce
12 year Bourbon $9, one ounce, $17 two ounce
13 year Rye (hilariously rare) $11 one ounce, $22 two ounce
15 year Bourbon (also hard to get) $10 one ounce, $19 two ounce
20 year Bourbon $14 one ounce, $27 two ounce
23 year Bourbon $26 one ounce, $52 two ounce
One and two ounce pours, as well as flights will be available while supplies last.
