Grey Lodge Pub Taps Dogfish Head 120 IPA on 1/20
Grey Lodge Pub is tapping a sixtel — well it's more like defusing a hop bomb — of Dogfish Head's extremely extreme 120 Minute IPA. The big-ass beer is boiled for a full two hours while continuously hopped with high-alpha American hops, then dry-hopped daily in the fermenter for a month, and then aged for another month on whole-leaf hops.
Tapping/defusing is at 10 AM. Weighing in around 18 percent ABV, previous 120 on 1/20 celebrations lead Grey Lodge owners to expect the sixtel will last all day. For 2014, January 20th is also Martin Luther King Day. As some people will have off from work for the national holiday, the sixtel may not last all day. But then maybe it will.
