Main Line Smuggler Charged with Selling High-End Wines
Following an undercover investigation, State Police in Chester County have charged Main Line attorney Arthur David Goldman with running a sophisticated, high-end wine smuggling operation. According to CBS Philly, authorities seized 2,426 bottles of wine valued between $150,000 and $200,000 from Goldman’s Malvern home after executing a search warrant.
Goldman reportedly furnished investigators with a 97-page list of wines that were available for sale from his personal wine cellar or via special order. No surprise, the majority of what was on that list was said to be varietals and vintages that are otherwise unavailable in Pennsylvania. For illegally importing and selling the wine, Goldmen was charged with multiple misdemeanors and faces fines upwards of $200,000 if convicted.
