Tela's Market & Kitchen Serving Free Booze with Dinner
Tela’s Market & Kitchen, the recently opened independent artisan grocer and cafe near 18th Street and Farimount Ave. will begin serving a series of intimate Chef’s Table Dinners on Friday evenings starting on January 24 at 8 PM. The meals, which are limited to just 12 seats and served family style will feature four, ingredient-driven courses prepared by Tela’s chef and former right-hand to Iron Chef Jose Garces, Chad Williams. In addition to Williams’ weekly menus, guests at the Chef’s Table Dinners will also be treated to complimentary beverage pairings from the market’s wine, beer and liquor partners.
“Right now Tela's has events lined up with Illegal Mezcal, Keith Raimondi from Lemon Hill, and working on sponsorships with additional liquor companies and local breweries,” Willimas told Drink Philly about the beverage component of his weekly dinners. “Megan Storm, wine consultant with The Artisan's Cellar and formerly of Sbraga and a.kitchen, will also assist Tela's in selecting wine pairings for guests."
Just as the menus will change with each week’s dinner, so to will the beverage pairings. Since seatings are limited, reservations are required, and expected to full booked on a regular basis. Right now the dinner slated for Friday, January 31 is sold out, but seats remain (for the time being, anyway) for Friday, January 24.
