Conshohocken Brewing Company Brings a Much Welcomed Beer Stop to Schuylkill River Bike Trail This Spring
Upstart Conshohocken Brewing Company is gearing up to open the doors to its new brewery, which will bring a much welcomed stop-off for area bicyclists traveling the Schuylkill River Bike Trail, and perhaps even inspire a sedentary beer nerd or two to take a trek on two wheels.
The brewing facility, which runs on a 15 bbl steam-fired system, is located near Elm and Hector streets in Conshohocken and backs up to the popular bike trail with rollup doors and a gorgeous deck. Co-founders John Remington and Ken Buonocore are working with ace brewer Andrew Horne who cut his brewers teeth here in Philly at Yards Brewing Co., before migrating west where he worked at Avery Brewing Company and Oskar Blues Brewery. Horne was recently awarded a bronze medal at the Great American Beer Festival for the Extra Special Bitter ale he developed for Portland, Oregon’s Breakside Brewery. He will have a close clone of that award winning brew on tap at CBC.
In addition to the ESB, Horne has a spring seasonal, a double IPA and a handful of other beers kegged and ready for the brewery’s big debut. Visitors to the CBC can tour the facilities, which were designed to give the curious an up-close look at the beer-making process while kicking back and enjoying some cool brews. CBC beers will be available on the premises in pints and growlers, while Remington and Buonocore continue to build their distribution network to get their brews on at more area bars.
