Drink This: Cantaloupe Jackson at Percy Street Barbecue
Despite Labor Day being in our rearview, the sweaty and sweltering temps outside make it pretty obvious that summer is still going strong. And that means, it’s still too soon for pumpkin beers.
While we wait for autumn’s crisp and cooler climate to set in — making the prospect of polishing off a bunch of pumpkin beers a little more palatable — Percy Street Barbecue’s Max Sherman has come up with the Cantaloupe Jackson, a more seasonably appropriate sipper that’s perfect for beating the swelter of late summer.
Riffing on a Margarita, Sherman mixes fresh cantaloupe with tequila, lemon and slapped basil to create the cool and most refreshing cocktail. It's currently available at the South Street barbecue joint for as long as cantaloupes are in season.
