South Philly Acme Debuts Beer Cafe and Six-Pack Shop
We knew winds of change were blowing strong in other parts of the Keystone State when sweet, heavenly beer began populating shelf space at various Sheetz, Wegmans and Whole Foods Markets. But not so much here closer to home in Philadelphia.
Until now, that is.
Acme Markets’ location near 19th St. and Oregon Ave. (1901 Johnson St.) now sells beer. The supermarket recently debuted its brand new beer cafe and six-pack shop, where thirsty shoppers can stop in and enjoy a cold one with a bite to eat, or mix a six of killer suds to enjoy at home.
The selection of beers includes more than 400 different varieties, according to Passyunk Post. The grocery chain opened a similar cafe in Flourtown. Hopefully this means more of its other locations will do the same soon.
