Bru Hosts Benefit for Severely Injured Bartender Theo Webb, Sun., Nov. 16
Tremendous tragedy befell Philadelphia’s drinking community last weekend when much-admired bartender Theo Webb went missing and later turned up unconscious as a John Doe at Hahnemann Hospital following an unfortunate bicycle accident. He remains in intensive care.
If you’ve spent any time high-stooling at places like James, Fish or Caribou Cafe in recent years, you’ve likely enjoyed Webb’s witty banter and exceptional bartending skills. Most recently, he was behind the bar at Brü.
As you can imagine, the young bartender’s medical bills are quickly stacking up. To help offset those potentially debilitating expenses, Brü owner Teddy Sourias and the staff are joining forces with Webb’s friends and family to host a fundraiser at the Midtown Village bar on Sunday, November 16, from 3 to 6 PM. Proceeds from the benefit will go toward his hospital bills and getting him on the road to recovery.
The event will feature drinks and food, plus raffles and a silent auction. The suggested donation is $50 per person. If you cannot attend the event but still wish to donate, you can do so through his GiveForward page.
