Vault Brewing Releases Coffee Stout in Nitro Cans
Larger breweries, such as Guinness and Oskar Blues, have already implemented this technology, but smaller, local breweries haven’t had the resources to do so yet. Vault has developed a process to create a nitro can without a widget, which is the tiny ball that is usually found in nitro cans.
The only beer Vault is releasing in nitro cans right now is the Coffee Stout, but the brewery said consumers can expect more beers to come out of this experiment if it proves to be successful. Other nitro cans could include other Coffee Stout varieties, malt-forward beers and even a sweet potato ale.
The first 2,000 cans will be on sale as a test at the Vault brewpub on Sunday, March 29 for $3 a can. Vault plans on hosting limited releases at Philadelphia bars after that. Check out the video below for more details about how the Vault nitro can came to be.
