As we
reported last month, the owners of
Opa (George and Vasiliki Tsiouris) have been plotting their takeover of the old Coco’s space on Jeweler’s Row, and they
reopened
as
Craftsman Row Saloon last
Friday, December 4.
The Tsiouris siblings have renovated Coco’s stalwart interior while keeping some of the classic features of the bar, including the original bar facade, the nameplates for former Coco’s regulars, and its nine booths. They’ve added some fun touches like faux taxidermy, TVs, and pendant lighting.
Rich Freedman, former sous chef at Opa itself, will be running Craftsman’s kitchen and will serve up classic bar food like wings, mac & cheese, ribeye steaks, and a selection of sandwiches. The bar will offer 16 drafts and upwards of 16 bottled and canned beers. Beer prices will run from $3 to $7 (with 22 oz. bottles available for $16-$17), and a well-curated list of both domestic and imported wines will range from $8-$9. Cocktails, which will all sell for $10, include choices like Pear of the Dog (spiced rum, ginger beer, and pear puree), Sage the Day (gin, elderflower, and sage), and Juan and Done (honey tequila, orange liqueur, and fresh lime).
Head over to Craftsman to check out their opening menu and indulge in some beer and bites, and maybe one day you’ll get your own Craftsman regulars plaque.
