Nick's Roast Beef in Old City to Undergo Name Change and Add In-House Smoker
The Old City Nick’s Roast Beef is going through a complete overhaul to become Nick’s Bar & Grille, complete with an in-house smoker, a new menu, new decor, and a brand new cocktail list.
Owner Joseph “Joey Dog” Schultice and fiancee Nicole Viechnicki were inspired to reboot their restaurant after four years so they could “set themselves apart” from other Nick’s around the city, and after talking with regulars and figuring out which menu items really worked (like the ground bacon burger), they revamped the menu to keep old favorites while adding in new future favorites, like new BBQ items using in-house smoked meats.
The decor will also change up a little bit and move away from a sandwich-shop feel — the dining room will now feature whiskey barrel high tops, a community table, and Old City-themed art on the walls.
New dishes will officially debut on March 31, but every Friday up until that will feature a tasting for “Old City regulars” who want to get a first crack at the new Nick’s. Stop in if you’re an Old City regular before March 31, or head there after that date to taste-test new menu items like pulled pork with jalapeño slaw or old classics like Nick’s chicken wings.
