The new 6,000 square foot space will be located on Front Street right under the El in Kensington and is somewhat of a homecoming for Evil Genius’ founders Luke Bowen and Trevor Hayward, who met at Villanova and are currently housed in Hartford, CT. Jon Defibaugh will be designing the space, which will include the brewery itself, a restaurant, and a beer garden. The space will also have an innovative 15-barrel system to age their beers and will rotate 8 draft beers at a time.
The Evil Genius team hopes to maintain the industrial, carriage-house feel of the space while simultaneously modernizing it, and with its high ceilings and large open spaces, there’s no telling yet what the brewery setup may look like. They hope to open the doors by this summer, so watch this space for updates.
