Laurel's Nick Elmi Is Opening a Bar Next Door to His Renown BYOB
Elmi is taking over the space next door, which was a coffee shop until recently, and turning it into a bar that will seat around 30 people (with 10 at the bar and the rest on the floor, while 5 seats will have a view of East Passyunk). The bar is yet unnamed — an original concept for the name was June (which is when laurels blossom), but after a New York spot of the same name opened recently, it’s back to the drawing board where that’s concerned.
The bar will serve small plates alongside wine and cocktails, and word on the street is that the bar is about two months from opening, so watch this space for any updates as we move closer to opening day.
