Jason Evenchik, the owner of
Time,
BAR,
Vintage,
Heritage and
Garage, is opening a new spot called
Tiki in Midtown Village in the former Corner/APO space at 102 S 13th Street.
As a longtime fan of the tiki concept (he reportedly even has tiki decorations in his home), Evenchik wants to bring a Hawaiian-inspired venture to this little corner in Midtown Village. Evenchik and his business partner,
Tim Heuisler (the current general manager over at Time), will offer a first floor lounge, a grand staircase, and, of course, they’ll keep the outdoor deck space. The deck will even be renamed the “Lomo Deck,” which refers to the Polynesian god of fertility. Drinks will range from classic tiki offerings to what Evenchik and Heuisler call “new tiki,” and the menu will be tropically inspired as well.
Evenchik and Heuisler are hoping for a mid-May opening, so keep an eye on that Midtown Village corner and see if some new tiki decorations appear over the next few months.
