Flying Fish Will Debut a Pork Roll Beer
We’re not here to debate what you should be calling this delicious pork product, because this beer was meant to unite the north and south — of New Jersey — and provide them with a beer that really tastes like home. It’s named after the state capitol’s exit, after all.
The beer is a dark porter that features hints of cocoa, caramel maple, and smoke. You’ll be able to taste these flavors along with the familiar spices that come from pork roll that were actually added to the kettle during brewing! It’ll be packaged in 750 mL bottles and ⅙ keg for a limited time, and its ABV comes in at a pleasant 7.5%.
The beer will be debuted at a tasting event on September 1 from 4 PM - 9 PM at the brewery located at 900 Kennedy Blv. in Somerdale, NJ. The special pork roll brew will be available to taste along with two other 20th anniversary beers — the Exit 5 Sour Forage Beer (an homage to the New Jersey pinelands soured with pine needles, goldenrod, and wintergreen) and the Exit 14 Imperial Pilsner.
We look forward to seeing this meaty brew in the area while supplies last.
