Iron Hill Brewing Opening in Center City in 2018
Iron Hill Brewery, a local suburban brewpub chain, plans on opening up their 13th location in the Market East neighborhood of Center City next year, according to Philly Voice.
This location is big news for the brewery, which currently only operates in the suburbs in PA, NJ and DE. The exact location will be at 1150 Market Street as a part of the huge revitalization project, “East Market,” that is underway in the neighborhood.
The brewery’s founder, Kevin Finn, told Philly Voice, “We’ve long wanted to join Center City’s exciting and diverse restaurant scene, but we wanted to be part of something from the ground up. There has been tremendous population growth as places like East Market draw new residents to Center City.”
The brewpub chain is a very familiar name in the suburbs, having been in operation over 20 years, which can help draw a brand new crowd to the soon to be booming neighborhood. Iron Hill also fills a gap in the Center City brewing scene that Nodding Head left—2nd Story Brewing is currently the only brewpub operating downtown.
Other confirmed tenants in the East Market development include MOM’s Organic Market and Design Within Reach. The brewery is expected to open in spring 2018.
