Test Your Oyster Skills at Shuckfest, April 23
Sansom Street’s classic seafood spot, Oyster House, is hosting its second annual Shuckfest from 12 PM - 4 PM on Sunday, April 23.
For $15 per person (note that it’s cash only), oyster lovers will be able to try their hand at an oyster shucking competition that’s for both amateurs and professionals, eat plenty of fresh seafood and oysters, and enjoy a Narragansett (which is included with the ticket for all guests who are 21+, although children are welcome). If you’re not a beer drinker, they’ll also be offering cocktails made with Avión Tequila, Bluecoat Gin, The Bay Vodka, and wine from The Wine Merchant.
Alongside the competition, which will conclude the event, guests can take part in an oyster shucking tutorial, a meet and greet with local oyster growers, a craft table for kids, a “Shell-fie” photo booth, and try snacks like fried oyster sliders and popcorn shrimp. Beyond the Narragansett included with entry, all drinks and food are cash-only. As for the competition, it will open with professional oyster shuckers judged on their prowess who are competing for a $200 cash prize and end with amateur oyster shuckers competing for a $100 Oyster House gift certificate.
Oyster fans won’t want to miss this one of a kind event, so get to Oyster House on April 23 for this oyster-centric afternoon.
