Tackle Sexism in the Brewing Industry at Women in Brewing Symposium, August 20
The Philadelphia chapter of the Pink Boots Society and the Brewing Sciences Program at the University of the Sciences are hosting the 1st Annual Women in Brewing Symposium at the University of the Sciences on Sunday, August 20 at 11 AM.
Pink Boots Society is a group that was created to uplift and educate women in the beer industry in order to advance their careers in the field. The agenda for the symposium ncludes a keynote address from Megan Parisi of the Boston Beer Company, followed by panel discussion lead by Colleen Rakowski (Free Will Brewing), Aimee Garlit (Dogfish Head), Lynn Pronobis (Union Craft), and moderated by beer journalist Tara Nurin. The day will end with a pay-as-you-go networking brunch from 2:30-4:30 PM City Tap House University City.
Tickets are $15 if purchased in advance and $20 at the door. Proceeds from the event will be donated to a women-in-brewing scholarship at U Sciences as well as the Pink Boots Society.
