Kick Off Negroni Week 2018 at Philadelphia Distilling's Cocktail Competition, June 4

For the sixth year in a row, Campari and Imbibe Magazine are rolling out the red-cocktail carpet for Negroni Week (June 4-10), where bars in cities throughout the world serve up a delicious classic cocktail to raise money for great charities.

In Philadelphia, you can kick off Negroni Week the right way at the Negroni Week 2018 Cocktail Competition, which will take place at Philadelphia Distilling on Monday, June 4 from 6 PM - 9 PM. At this event, six Philadelphia bartenders will compete for the best Negroni, and for $22 per ticket (which are available here), guests will receive samples of each Negroni, a full-sized version of the drink they vote for, and complimentary food, alongside a cash bar for any additional cocktails and raffles and giveaways. If you're still craving Negronis once the competition is done, head to Martha for the afterparty, which starts at 9 PM. For other Negroni Week events in Philadelphia, keep an eye on the official Facebook page, which will be updated as events are added.

The Negroni — a traditional Italian bitter drink made with equal parts gin, Campari and sweet vermouth — is a beloved drink across the globe, and with this week-long event, bartenders can serve up traditional Negronis or their ideal twists on the cocktail and raise money for the charity of their choice at the same time. Each participating bar and restaurant will choose a different charity, which will receive a portion of their proceeds specifically from their Negroni Week specials. If you’re interested in a specific charity, simply look up the charity on the official Negroni Week website to see which bar is supporting it. They'll also host, for the first time, Campari Community Service Day on June 5, which is co-sponsored by the USBG National Charity Foundation, letting bartenders and liquor reps volunteer and give back in their respective cities.

Several Philadelphia restaurants are participating in Negroni Week and offering specials throughout the week, including a.bar, a.kitchen, The Franklin, Zavino, Square 1682, Gran Caffe L'Aquilla, Harper's Garden, Village Whiskey, Tinto, Aqimero, The Capital Grille, Amuse, The Happy Rooster, Ashton Cigar Bar, Bank & Bourbon, Continental Midtown, Franky Bradley's, Alice Pizza, Jane G's Sichuan House, and Garces Trading Company, so if you're a fan of Negronis and want to give back, there are plenty of options right here in the city of Brotherly Love.
