Helm Opens Rittenhouse Location With a Full Bar & Locally Sourced Menu

Helm Rittenhouse, the first of the Helm restaurants with a liquor license, is now open at 1901 Chestnut Street on the second floor (the former home of Aldine).

Helm, run by Kevin D'Egidio and Michael Griffiths, is, of course, known for its locally sourced inspired menus, using fresh ingredients to create exceptionally creative and seasonal dishes, but the Rittenhouse location will not be a BYOB. Greg Diamond, a Four Seasons bar alum who has worked at Helm for the past few years, has created a bar menu that reflects the restaurant's food. One summer cocktail, The Green Thumb, uses kitchen ingredients like muddled English peas and mixes them with mezcal, gin, egg white, and mint for a perfectly seasonal cocktail that pairs beautifully with dishes like their caramelized corn agnolotti and hazelnut-fried soft shell crab.

Helm Rittenhouse's bar will be open from Tuesday through Saturday, 5 PM - 2 AM (with the kitchen closing at 10 PM Tuesday-Thursday and 10:30 PM on Friday-Saturday), but they're also offering happy hour right away Tuesday through Friday from 5 PM - 7 PM. Happy hour will feature $5 small plates, $8 wines (which will be featured wines of the bartender's choice with a white, red, and rosé option), $5 drafts, and $2 cans of Miller High Life and Hamm's.

Helm Rittenhouse is now open, so whether you already love Helm or haven't made it to their North Philly location, stop into their new spot and sample fresh, unique food and drink perfect for any season.
