Celebrate Beaujolais Nouveau Day 2018 in Philly, November 15

Celebrate Beaujolais Nouveau Day 2018 in Philly, November 15

Thursday, November 15 marks the release of this year’s batch of Beaujolais Nouveau, and lucky for you, Philly has provided a celebration to enjoy this French wine holiday.

Vintage Wine Bar is hosting their annual Beaujolais celebration from 5 PM-9 PM with complimentary hors d’oeuvres, wine samples, Cru Beaujolais flights, $8 glasses of wine, giveaways and live music.

The Tria Cafe locations in Rittenhouse and Wash West will be pouring glasses of the Jean Paul Brun Nouveau, Vissoux Rose Beaujolais and Beaujolais Blanc varieties all day, priced between $12 and $9. They’ll also have a French charcuterie selection discounted between $15 and $12, along with French tunes playing all day to get everyone in the Beaujolais mood.

Starting at 4 PM, South Philadelphia Taproom will be serving $10 glasses and $35 bottles of the Terres Dorées Beaujolais. They’ll also have food specials that include smoked turkey poutine, chicken liver pate with Beaujolais pickled onions, and oysters with Beaujolais mignonette.

Rittenhouse's a.kitchen will offer a $50 prix fixe menu to celebrate this year's batch of Beaujolais Nouveau (with a la carte options available), and you can order bottles of that a la carte as well or add it to your meal for $10 per person. This particular dinner runs from 5 PM - 10 PM, and you can make reservations here.

Panorama, the venerable Old City restaurant known for its extensive wine selection, is featuring a flight (called 'Light & Lovely' for $29) which contains 2 Beaujolais wines as well as similar French varietals. Starting on November 15, the flight will include Beaujolais Nouveau — and if you stop in during their happy hour from 5 PM - 7 PM, all flights are $5 off.

Celebrate at Fishtown Socialwhere they’ll have the Terres Dorées Beaujolais by the glass, bottle and offered to go from the 15th through the month of November. On Nouveau Day Le Fromager will be onsite with a selection of cheeses (including vegan options) along with live jazz music.

Di Bruno Bros' Rittenhouse location will be doing free Terres Dorées samples in honor of the holiday from 11 AM- 7 PM, along with Cru Beaujolais tastings and cheese pairings for both varietals.

Even Philly’s oldest bar McGillin’s is celebrating the French holiday with special $5 priced glasses of Beaujolais Nouveau and half priced French onion soup.

On Friday, November 16, LaCroix at the Rittenhouse Hotel will be hosting a special tasting event in their courtyard at 6 PM. Tickets are $55 and include savory snacks and tastings of 20+ Beaujolais varieties including Lapierre, Foillard, Breton, and Thevenet.  Tickets must be reserved and they can be purchased online at this link.

Head to any one of these spots to celebrate this French tradition and try this year's stock of Beaujolais Nouveau!
