Philly's Best Happy Hours: Spice Finch's $8 Punch, $8 Wine, and $4 Snacks

Welcome to Philly’s Best Happy Hours, a feature highlighting great happy hours in different neighborhoods throughout Philadelphia. Since Drink Philly started out as a place to find happy hours in the city, we thought it was only right to return to our roots and turn the spotlight on some of Philly’s absolute best happy hour deals.

This week, we're featuring Spice Finch, Rittenhouse's modern-Mediterranean oasis tucked away in the Warwick Hotel. The restaurant marks Chef Jen Carroll's triumphant return to Philadelphia, and between the innovative bar program (with a "Redemption" featuring drinks made with unloved liqueurs like Midori and Jägermeister) and the extensive menu stocked with everything from kebabs to stuffed grape leaves to shakshuka, there's something here that's sure to please every guest who walks through the door.

Their happy hour, which runs from Monday through Thursday from 4 PM to 6 PM as well as extended hours on Fridays from 3 PM to 6 PM, offers a plethora of great deals on not just drinks, but some of Spice Finch's signature dishes, all of which are full-sized (rather than smaller happy hour portions).

The drink menu features two cocktail options: the Finch House Punch ($8), which is made with cognac and peach, as well as a Cocktail of the Day ($10), which is decided by that afternoon's bartender — but with this staff, you'll never be disappointed by their choice.

Not a drinker? No worries. Spice Finch's regular beverage menu features a few non-alcoholic cocktails, including the N/A Groni ($8), made with san bitter and chinotto.

If you're celebrating or just in the mood for a little bubbly, snag a glass of refreshing, crisp prosecco for just $8.

You'll also find rotating house red and white wines for $8, as well as a "draft of the moment" and cans of DC Brau Corruption, both for $4.

If you're hungry, you have plenty of options for food — a full plate of chicken kebabs will cost you just $9, and if you're looking for a lighter snack, you can choose between the blistered shishito peppers, the shabazi fries, or the spiced nuts, all for $5.

An exciting feature of the happy hour food menu is the $4 "sauces" section, where you can choose between tahina, garlic yogurt, or lemon yogurt, as well as choose your dipping vehicle (options include flatbread, crisps, or crudité). These light yet filling dips are the perfect accompaniment to any of Spice Finch's drinks and are an excellent preview of the rest of the expansive menu.

"Spice Finch's happy hour is the best because we’re offering a selection of some of our best menu items at a lower price point," says bar manager Michael Haggerty. "We are not offering lower quality — we simply want our guests to come in more frequently to unwind after work and enjoy our hospitality."

Next time you find yourself near the Warwick, pull up a seat at Spice Finch's luxurious bar, pick a dip and a cocktail, and settle in for a relaxing end to your day or beginning to your evening.
