Cry Baby Pasta, A New Restaurant from Bridget Foy & Paul Rodriguez, is Now Open in Queen Village
Bridget Foy & Paul Rodriguez have opened a new Italian concept in Queen Village — Cry Baby Pasta, located at 627 N. 3rd Street (the former home of Ela).
After the 2017 fire that decimated Bridget Foy's namesake restaurant located just a couple of blocks away, Foy and her husband, Rodriguez, needed a new project, and while they wait (along with parents John & Bernadette) for the original family restaurant to reopen after renovations, they've partnered with chefs David Gilberg and Carla Goncalves (formerly of Koo Zee Doo) for a modern Italian concept.
With a 2,000 square foot space, a 55 seat dining room, and a 12 seat bar complete with a dining rail, Cry Baby Pasta will serve up comforting yet Italian classics like spaghetti cacio e pepe, sardine toast, and house made meatballs, alongside Italian-inspired cocktails, 35 wines by the bottle, and 10 taps (four for wine, six for beer), wines by the glass, and a full range of spirits.
"We are thrilled to return to doing what we love," said Bridget Foy. "We want to thank each and every person for sending their love and support during the difficult time after the fire. We had an outpouring of support from not only our amazing customers and locals - but from people around the region and the East Coast. We are so excited to reopen Bridget Foy's later this year - and in the meantime get back to being the hosts in our brand new restaurant Cry Baby Pasta. We hope to make new memories with everyone at what we hope will become a neighborhood staple - and we can't express how excited we are to open our doors this week. It isn't the journey we imagined, but from the fire it led us to a new adventure and we can't wait to share it with everyone."
Currently, Cry Baby Pasta is open for dinner seven days a week, with the bar opening at 4 PM daily, and the kitchen will be open from 5 PM - 10 PM Sunday through Thursday and from 5 PM - 12 AM Fridays and Saturdays. Philadelphia loves a good Italian concept, so head to Cry Baby Pasta today for a bowl of cozy housemade pasta and a glass of Italian wine.
