Philly Wine Week begins
Sunday, March 31 and runs through
Sunday, April 7. In honor of the special week, events and happy hours will take place throughout the city celebrating wine and all of its glory. Here are some of the can't miss events featuring awesome pairings, wine quizzo, and even cheesesteaks!
Sunday, March 31
Kick off Philly Wine Week in style at the Opening Corks Gala taking place this year at XIX at the Bellevue. General admission tickets are $65 and get you three hours of wine tasting and bites from some of Philly’s best restaurants like The Good King Tavern, Barbuzzo, Barcelona, Hungry Pigeon, American Sardine Bar, and XIX. For $125 grab a VIP ticket for an extra hour of tasting beginning at 5 PM, along with an exclusive champagne bar, raw bar and other appetizers. Purchase your tickets

Parc
Sip on wine from lesser known regions of France like Savoie, Picpoul de Pinet and Marcillac at this Rittenhouse brasserie. Each wine is available by the glass all week for $13. (227 S 18th St.)
Panorama
This Old City wine haven will be pouring large format bottles of vintage Barolo, Brunello and Barbera for just $5 over cost per glass until supplies run out. Stop in and ask the bartender which wine is flowing any day this week. (14 N Front St.)
The Rittenhouse Hotel
Each night of wine week at Bar210, Lacroix and the Library Bar, you can test your tasting skills in a blind tasting. Try a pour for $10, and if you guess that day's wine correctly, you'll leave with an entire bottle of your very own. (210 W Rittenhouse Sq.)
Monday, April 1
Kensington Quarters
Celebrate the beginning of wine week with a pig roast wine party on Frankford Ave. Grab a wine pass for $35 for unlimited wine all night while you enjoy tunes on vinyl. Pig roast is $10, snacks and other sides are $5, and there will also be wine cocktails and other beverages available for purchase at the bar. Free admission, RSVP

Jet Wine Bar
Spend an evening discussing sex, gender and their relation to wine with wine expert Jill Weber and Queen Miss Karen Vonsay from Bob & Barbara’s. $50

Di Bruno Bros. Rittenhouse
Stop by Di Bruno’s all day on Tuesday for a curious paring of tinned fish and natural wine. Wines will include Albarino from Rías Baixas, Los Bermejos Rose and more. (1730 Chestnut St.)
Vintage Wine Bar
Test your wine skills with four rounds of trivia hosted by Micheal Hodges of Vintage Imports. Bring a team or play it solo for a chance to win some vino swag and giftcards. (129 S 13th St.)
Wednesday, April 3
Pinot Boutique
Wine isn’t just for pairing with caviar and foie gras. Pinot Boutique is offering an hour tasting of some Philly favorites like soft pretzels, cheesesteaks, Tastycakes and Peanut Chews perfectly paired with some great wines. Tickets are $35 and can be purchased in advance

South Philadelphia Tap Room
Transport yourself to Baja with a night of food and natural wine straight from Mexico. Featured wines include Bichi wines from Tecate that made with natural yeasts and neutral vessels for an enhanced flavor experience. Royal Boucherie
The awesome ladies of Philadelphia’s wine scene—Alexandra Fitzgerald from Panorama, Vanessa Wong of Fishtown Social, Amanda McKenna of Martha, and Lili Shariati from Vine Street Imports—are pouring their favorite wines at this tasting event. Tickets are $40 and include tastings and passed snacks and charcuterie. 10% of the proceeds benefit Project SAFE. (52 S 2nd St.)

Back in ancient times wine was made in terra cotta pots called amphora. In 2019, what’s old is trendy again with many modern winemakers using amphora to produce organic wines made with little human tampering. Taste these modern wines made with ancient techniques by ordering a special amphora flight Thursday evening and ask your server if you’re interested in learning more about ancient winemaking! Hungry Pigeon
Start the weekend off right in Queen Village with pink wine takeover. These wines that are very near and dear to our hearts will be available by the glass all day starting bright and early at 7 AM. (743 S 4th St.)
High Street on Market

Sunday, April 7
Veda
Express your creativity at this instructor-led wine glass painting class. A $30 ticket includes a 90 minute painting session on a Burgundy glass, snacks, and a glass of wine from Veda’s premium selection. Other dates for the wine painting class include Monday, April 1, Tuesday, April 2 and Wednesday, April 3 from 6:30 PM-8 PM. (1920 Chestnut St.)
American Sardine Bar
