Rittenhouse's a.bar Launches New Drink Menu with Affordable Food
Rittenhouse's a.bar, which shares part of its space with its sister restaurant a.kitchen, is creating a new identity with a brand new menu of small plates and creative cocktails.
Gone are its traditional appetizers and entrees, which have been replaced by a list of reasonably priced, shareable plates that are the perfect pairing for any one of a.bar's cocktails.
You can still get a great burger at a.bar, and it's now just $8, served with garlic aioli, pickles, American cheese, lettuce, and onion on a High Street bun.
Pair it with caesar croquettes ($8) atop a salad, or try a.bar's new charcuterie selection, which is priced per item and includes terrines and cured meats aplenty with prices ranging from $6-$8.
Vegetarians can also dig into their large falafel plate ($8), which comes with grilled pita and a spicy vegetable salad.
The drink selection is also full of new options, with complicated yet refreshing drinks that are perfect for spring.
If you need a caffeine boost, try the a.cafe Martini, made with a.vod Vodka, Rival Bros. espresso, Averna, cream, and créme de cacao.
Get into a springtime mood with You Never Can Tell With Bees, which uses Barr Hill Gin, rhubarb liqueur, fennel shrub, dill aquavit, Peychaud's bitters, and honey.
For a tropical twist, don't miss the Paradise Lost, made with Leblon Caçhaca, Single Prop Rum, lime, pineapple-mint shrub, and green chartreuse.
a.bar has stood on the corner of 18th and Walnut for years, but with this menu revamp, it feels like a new bar, so grab a barstool and try one of their fantastic new cocktails alongside any of their delectable small plates.
