Philly Cider Week Returns This Year, October 26-31

Cider fans rejoice because after taking a hiatus last year, Philly Cider Week is back for it's third year. This year's Cider Week will run Tuesday, October 26 to Sunday, October 31, and will feature curated events from some of Philly’s best bars and restaurants and artisanal ciders from orchards all over Pennsylvania. Here are some can't-miss events to attend during this exciting week, and you can check out the full line-up here.
 

Highlights Not to Miss

Official Closing Night Event: Nightmare on 8th Street
Sunday, October 31, 5 PM - 10 PM
Irwin's Upstairs at Bok

This year there is no official opening event, but if there is one event you attend this year, it is the signature closing celebration of Philly Cider Week, and this year it's even on Halloween! "Nightmare on 8th Street" will be held in collaboration with Haunt Halloween Bar and Irwin's Upstairs and will feature an amazing cider selection from local and regional cideries, cider-inspired cocktails, halloween activities, including the annual costume catwalk contest, and small plates from chef/owner Michael Ferreri.

PA Cider: Old, New, & Evolving w/Dan Pucci & Ploughman Farm Cider
Tuesday, October 26th, 6 PM - 9 PM
Lunar Inn

Lunar Inn will be hosting acclaimed cider writer, Dan Pucci, for a Q&A on his latest book "American Cider: A Modern Guide to a Historic Beverage" and will feature cider from renowned PA cidery, Ploughman Farm Cider.

Dressler Estate Harvest Celebration
Wednesday, October 27, 5 PM - 7:30 PM
The Gateway Garden at Drexel University (32nd & Market Street)

Enjoy perfectly fall-appropriate orchard-focused ciders by Dressler Estate at Drexel University's urban garden located at Market St & JFK Blvd! Enjoy a cool autumn breeze, amazing city views, and live acoustic music from Ed Gonzalez under the string lights at Gateway Garden.

"Basqeurade" at Le Caveau Masquerade Party
Saturday, October 30, 6 PM - 12 AM
Le Caveau

Le Caveau is hosting a "Basquerade" to celebrate Philly Cider Week on Saturday, October 30th, but it also happens to be their two year anniversary! They'll be celebrating with long pours of Basque ciders and snacks that evoke the French/Spanish border. Costumes are encouraged but not required and the $5 ticket fee gets donated directly to METAvivor, an organization dedicated to the battle against stage 4 metastatic breast cancer.

"Day Drinks" wtih Farnum Hill Cider & Middle Child Clubhouse
Saturday, October 30, 11 AM - 3 PM
Middle Child Clubhouse

Join the crew at Middle Child Clubhouse for a lively day full of sparkling cider cocktails. A bone dry, zero sugar cider makes a flavorful replacement for sparkling wine in almost any classic bubbly cocktail and New Hampshire based Farnum Hill’s Dooryard cider is no exception. The bar team will serve their versions of familiar daytime drinks utilizing sparkling cider alongside your favorite Middle Child sandwiches. Gluten free food options are available.

Hale & True

Stop by the Hale & True Taproom Wednesday 10/27 through Friday 10/29 to celebrate Cider Week with a cider + cider donut flight! Okie Dokie Donuts (gluten free) will be whipping up four limited edition donuts inspired by and made with four Hale & True ciders, for you to enjoy side-by-side. The donuts will be available Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 5pm to sell out each day. Detailed menu to come.

Big Hill Ciderworks Tap Takeover
Wednesday October 27 - Sunday October 31, 4 PM - 11 PM
Prohibition Taproom

Join the team at Pro Tap all weeklong (while supplies last) for a tap takeover of bone dry, zero sugar, limited release single variety ciders from Pennsylvania orchards and cidery, Big Hill Ciderworks: Kingston Black, Stoke Red, and Golden Russet. Gluten free options are available.

Frizwit's Pork & Greens Goes Apples with Eden Specialty Cider
Thursday October 28 - Sunday October 31, 11 AM - 7 PM

Pork & Greens, the classic Roast Pork perfected by Frizwit, gets the cider treatment by way of Eden Specialty Ciders with braised greens and cider-roasted Primal Supply pork butt. Come in Saturday, October 29th, from 11 AM -7 PM and get a complimentary can of Eden Specialty Cider’s latest release with your purchase (in store/pick up only).
