Sixpoint Brewing Joins the Craft Can Movement
Sixpoint Brewing Co. has jumped on the Craft Can movement!
The beer can has earned a terrible reputation as being the primary vessel for transporting the worst brews known to man, lumping craft beers largely to the world of bottles.
What most folks don’t realize (and what craft brewers are trying to educate the public about) is that beer cans are, in fact, a better (and greener) way to transport and ship beer.
Beyond reducing overall costs for a brewery, the cans block light, which causes damage to beer. In addition, because cans are filled to the top and stamped under pressure, there are reduced levels of oxygen in the bottles. What all this jargon means is that your beer is more often fresher than bottles.
The Sixpoint cans look pretty slick, from what we’ve seen. The Brooklyn-based brewery will be launching 16-ounce four-packs of their four core beers – Sweet Action, Bengali Tiger IPA, Righteous Ale, and The Crisp.
Release date is slated for Memorial Day Weekend, May 23rd.
