The Return of Bruno: Part Deux
Only this time instead of bringing us classics such as "Bruno's Bop" or dropping Alan Rickman off of the top of Nakatomi plaza, he is the spokesperson for the Polish Vodka "Sobieski". Not only is Bruce Willis the face of the Vodka's North American marketing campaign, but he was also rewarded 3.3% stock of Belvédère S.A., Sobieski's parent company.
There is nothing new about Hollywood’s best actor's and musicians taking their shots at being an entrepreneur, but what does our favorite gun-toting, Emmy award winning actor actually know about Vodka? Quoted from the man himself in a video straight from Sobieski's website: "The answer is absolutely nothing".
Then why Bruce? According to Chester Brendes, President and CEO of Imperial Brands Inc. a subsidiary of Belvédère S.A., "Much like Sobieski, Bruce is authentic, likeable, and doesn't get caught up in superficiality".
Similar to Sobieski Vodka, Bruce Willis makes no attempt to sell himself as something he is not. Enter their "Truth in Vodka" campaign. Sobieski's goal is to inform people on the truths of popular vodkas, while promoting theirs as honest and authentic. Sobieski proudly bears a simple bottle design in comparison to "competitors who rely on lavish packaging and gimmicky ad campaigns that have resulted in a deluge of overpriced vodkas".
Spawning from Poland the birthplace of vodka (that's right, step one is informing us that vodka has it's original roots in Poland, sorry Russia), Sobieski's "Truth in Vodka" campaign includes "Truth Parties" which are promotional events aimed at spreading the word and further informing people of their product. These gatherings boast things like "Truth booths" where in authentic reality TV fashion people are asked risqué questions in an enclosed interview booth and recorded interviews inquiring what guests think about their product.
Bruce's upfront attitude and comedy are complimented by the presence of Sobieski Vodka's CEO Krysztof Trylinski in a series of videos which can be found on their website www.vodkasobieski.com. Also an ongoing video blog can be found on the site with information containing Polish traditions, food, and spirits. Make sure when navigating you stop in to the "Ask Bruce" portion, where if you find yourself puzzled and stumped by life’s mysteries you can call upon Bruce's unlimited wisdom and be answered by a series of thirty pre-recorded answers.
Just don't ask him if he's going to clean up his language in future Die Hard movies.
