Founders Breakfast Stout
Described as a "Double Chocolate Coffee Oatmeal Stout," this Imperial dares to ask the question, "If I drink this at work, will my boss think I'm drinking an iced coffee?"
Regarded by many as the great granddaddy of the coffee stouts, drinking this beer is kind of like chewing on Sumatran coffee beans followed by a chaser of chocolate milk spiked with Guinness and vodka. Founders Brewing Company, out of Grand Rapids, Michigan, is no stranger to great flavor combinations.
Their KBS (Kentucky Breakfast Stout) is one of the most lauded bourbon-barrel aged stouts out their, and their extremely rare Canadian Breakfast Stout adds maple syrup to the mix. Breakfast Stout is an 8.3% sipper whose flavor intensity will get you before its alcohol content will.
