Classy Go-Go & Whiskey at the New Trestle Inn
From the outside, The Trestle Inn looks like the same seedy corner bar it was for nearly 40 years, but the first step inside shows off an entirely new feel. Still featuring go-go dancers and classic ‘60s and ‘70s disco hits, the 11th and Callowhill tavern reopened this October with new decor, a classy atmosphere and a bar stocked full of high-end whiskey.
As you watch the ladies put on a show, choose from over 50 different kinds of bourbon, malt, rye, scotch or other craft whiskeys, or settle down with a pour from a rotating list of beers on draft as well as a selection of quality IPAs, ales and other brews by the can.
To the right is a small dance stage, though when you’re lucky you might catch the performers strutting their stuff directly across the bar. A larger stage in the back room is staffed with guest DJs on weekend nights, eliciting a packed dance floor. While the night is still young, that same room holds nine candlelit tables where you can have a casual.
The food menu features an array of period-inspired bar fare like devilled eggs and pigs-in-blankets, as well as heartier options sandwiches or bison meatloat. The Trestle also has a jar of pigs feet displayed, just in case you want to a good look at your bar snack before it reaches your plate. Starting this month, a “Drag Your Ass Out of Bed” brunch menu will launch.
Happy hour runs 5–8 PM, Monday–Saturday, and brings $4 whiskey sours, $3 Lord Chesterfield drafts and $5 PBRs and Old Crow shots. Although the go-go doesn’t really get going until later in the eve, you can watch a screening of retro dancers projected on the wall that separates the front and back rooms, shaking their booty to some of the classics, including those from Smokey Brooks, Solomon King, Steve Colt and The Vibrettes.
