Vote for Rum Bar's Adam Kanter To Be Tommy Bahama's Rumologist

Rittenhouse drinkery Rum Bar is a tribute to all things rum-related, and proprietor Adam Kanter is the man behind the 200-label collection, tiki-style decor and Caribbean comestibles at this cane-spirit capital. This week, he’s up for a chance to become a national ambassador for island brand Tommy Bahamas, which is looking to appoint its first ever “rumologist," and you can help him win.
Tommy Bahamas produces both a light and dark rum (White Sand and Golden Sun), and recently put out a call to mixologists around the country, looking to fill the rumologist spot. Contenders submitted videos detailing their qualifications, which had to include being familiar with rum’s long history, knowing how to mix the liquor creatively and recognizing how to pair it with food.
Just 20 finalists were chosen from the initial entries, including Philadelphia's Kanter (check out his video here). The chosen rum-aficionado will win $50,000 outright, and get to travel the country, experimenting with and educating on the time-honored tropical elixir. Voting occurs on the Tommy Bahama Facebook page, where you can cast your ballot once a day.
Having recently checked out a few of the new cocktails at Kanter’s bamboo-clad bar, we’re convinced he has the right stuff to spread the good rum word. The contest ends September 8, so give the page a like and start giving Adam some Philly-style click-love today.
