Craft Beer at the Ballpark: Citizens Bank Park Brew Guide
Craft beer is exploding in popularity, and now accounts for over 5% of all U.S. beer sales, according the the Brewers Association. As the masses start to appreciate real brew, craft styles are showing up in spots that used to be the bastion of macro-lager lore, like baseball stadiums.
Even though Budweiser is still the official beer of the MLB, there are plenty of parks across the country serving up great options outside the regular big beer mainstays. The New York Times lists several in their recent trend piece on the topic, including Erie Railbender Ale (PNC Park in Pittsburgh), Boulevard Unfiltered Wheat (Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City) and Great Lakes Edmund Fitzgerald (Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia).
Speaking of the Bank, the good folks at ChocolateCoveredMemories.com and MyRuinedLife.com have taken it upon themselves to compile a frequently updated spreadsheet of all the great brews available there. It’s an impressive selection that includes options from Dogfish Head, Victory, Weyerbacher, Troegs, Oskar Blues, Prism, PBC, Anchor, Flying Fish and many, many more.
Check out the shared doc (or the more mobile-friendly PDF version), which lists labels available at each location and whether the liquid comes in draft, can or bottle form. We’ll be matching up our tickets with this handy chart before each Phillies game, to be sure.
