Opa Opens Drury Beer Garden in Midtown Village
Midtown Village is bustling with bars of all types and kinds. You can get zany margaritas at El Vez, Spanish sherry at Jamonera, Asian scorpion bowls at Sampan and properly louched absinthe at Time. But what 13th Street has lacked to this point is a true outdoor beer garden. Not any more! Opa has launched Drury Beer Garden, located in a stone-tiled patio behind the Greek taverna.
Open 5 PM–midnight, Monday–Thursday and 5 PM–2 AM, Friday–Saturday, the garden is filled with an eclectic assortment of chairs that surround picnic and reclaimed wooden spool tables, and has its own bar, made from a vintage dresser. The beer list sports four drafts, nearly 20 bottles and half as many cans ($4–$10), and a series of specialty summer drinks — spiked lemonade, iced tea or punch — go for $6 a pint or $55 per cooler.
A small menu of bar bites includes chili-garlic chicken fingers, a gyro, a pretzel rign with Dale’s Pale Ale mustard sauce and the crab boil, which features whole crustaceans served with corn on the cob, sausage and potatoes ($2–$8). Bring five of your friends and get the $150 feast for six: a case of beer, the crab feast for all and dessert to top it off. The party’s just getting started.
