Arts programs in our schools are extremely valuable but woefully underfunded. Deva Watson was recently hired as an art teacher, and realized if she wanted anything near a nice classroom — with enough supplies to lead kids through the great experience of creating — she would need to put up her own dough. Watson also works at Pub & Kitchen, so general manager Ed Hackett volunteered to host a fundraising event to help the cause.

On Monday, August 6, the Lombard Street tavern is throwing a “bring your own vinyl” party. Sixpoint Brewery donated a keg of beer, so P&K Pale Ales will go for $3 per pint, with all the proceeds going to the classroom. Also on offer will be $5 shots of Heaven Hill, to add to the weeknight fun (school doesn’t start until next month, right?). Things get started at 9 PM.
