Pizza Brain Grand Opening Party, September 7
Fishtown is about to get a bit more fun. On Friday, September 7, Brian Dwyer throws open the doors at Pizza Brain, the pizzeria that is also home to his Guinness World Record holding collection of pizza memorabilia. There you’ll find a pizza-themed mural, pizza-dotted album cover illustrations, pizza dolls, pizza phones, pizza posters and oh, actual pizza, baked fresh in a tradtional oven. And for one night, there will also be beer. Lots of beer.
The grand opening party kicks off at 5 PM, with live music, belly dancers and other entertainment (magic has been promised), as well as slices of fresh pie and dessert (some of it pizza-flavored) from Little Baby’s Ice Cream, which has a retail counter in the back corner of the shop. What will you drink to go with all the pizza-ness?
Barry’s Homebrew is bringing a fantastic selection, including original and Sour Cherry Berliner Weisse, Old Woodsman Funky Stout with juniper and smoked malt, Jimmy's Original Bitter, German DryPA and Scottish-style Pirates Blood. Plus, Memphis Taproom will be showing up with cans of a hefeweizen, and artisan brewer Craig McDonald will pour a limited-edition sour beer made specifically for the event.
And the beer is all free. Pizza, beer, ice cream, music and magic. What could be better? RSVP on Facebook here.
