DesignPhiladelphia: The Switched-On Garden Party, October 14
On the last day of the weeklong celebration of design known as DesignPhiladelphia, Bartram’s Garden in Fairmount Park will host environmentally aware record company Data Garden (which releases digital music on artwork that can grow into living plants) for a party and interactive exhibition.
From 2–8:30 PM, wander through the oldest surviving botanical garden in North America and explore the relationship between plants, music and technology. There will be live performances throughout the day, and also food and drink.
Judging from the sponsor list, the bites and sips should be enticing: look for brews from Dogfish Head, cocktails with Art in the Age craft spirits (Snap, Root, Rhuby), mixed concoctions with Spodee fortified wine and eats from Little Baby’s Ice Cream and The Trestle Inn. There is no entry fee, but you can RSVP here on Facebook.
