Bierstube Oktoberfest: Duckling Pig, September 28-30
At the start of the 20th century, German forces occupied the fishing village port of Tsingtau, China, and established a city there, implementing some of the first sewer systems, electricity and schools in the entire region. Also founded during that period, in 1903, was Tsingtao Brewery, which went on to be world famous and still produces brew, accounting for around 15% of the Chinese beer market.
In honor of that heritage, Bierstube is throwing a Duckling Pig Oktoberfest celebration all weekend. From Friday–Sunday, September 28–30, stop into the Old City tavern to enjoy a mixed platter — a plate full of both roast suckling pig and Peking duck. There are plenty of Oktoberfest and other German and American brews on tap to wash down the multi-meat meal, so head over any time this weekend for some cross-cultural enjoyment.
