Red Wednesday: Victory Brewing Releases Red Thunder, November 21
Back in September, we mentioned Victory Brewing Co.’s plans to give near-perfect Baltic Thunder an update, and now we have more delicious details. On the day before Thanksgiving, dubbed Red Wednesday, Victory will release Red Thunder, created by aging the porter in red wine barrels for approximately three months.
The results were apparently excellent — the brewery describes the new beer as being “cocoa-y, tannic, creamy and amazingly luscious.” Your first chance to get hold of the 750ml corked and caged bottles ($8 each) is on November 21 at the Downingtown facility.
On that day, the brewpub will open for breakfast for the first time ever on a weekday. From 8 AM on, you can stop in to enjoy eggs Benedict or stuffed cornflake French toast and sample Red Thunder as you eat ($2.50 for a taster or $5 for a 12-oz. pour). You can even buy Red Thunder to take home from your server, without ever leaving your seat (maximum of six bottles per person).
Sounds like the perfect Thanksgiving pre-game.
