Troegs Mad Elf is a beloved winter beer, but the Hershey, PA brewery only releases it once a year, in limited quantities. At 7 PM on Tuesday, December 11, Cavanaugh’s Rittenhouse will be tapping a keg of the Belgian strong dark ale.
Though it carries an 11% ABV, the alcohol is masked by scents of spice and flavors of rich malt, yeast and cherries. The brilliant red color of the beer, which is usually served in chalice or tulip glasses, goes perfectly with holiday decor. Head over to Sansom Street to get your first sip of the special December brew.
